The Art of Smiles

Dr. Subject grew up right here in Santa Barbara. He attended Mountain View Elementary School, Goleta Valley Junior High School, and Dos Pueblos High School. He is a second generation dentist following in the footsteps of his father.  Dr Subject’s office is the same office his father built his practice at.  Dr Subject and his father worked side by side until his fathers retirement.

Dr Subject studied biology at UC Irvine and received his dental degree from University of the Pacific in San Francisco in 1983. He has served in a variety of leadership positions including President of the Santa Barbara Ventura County Dental Society and as a California Dental Association Council Member. In 2001 he received fellowship into the American College of Dentists. He became a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in 2009.

Kim is our office manager with over two decades of experience, having joined Dr. Subject’s practice in 2004. She excels at handling customer concerns and appointments with care and efficiency. Kim’s dedication to her role goes beyond administrative tasks; she genuinely cares about patient well-being, fostering a welcoming and comfortable environment within the office. Her passion for dentistry, continuous learning, and commitment make her an indispensable asset to the practice and a friendly, professional face for both colleagues and patients.

Lupe, who joined our team in 2017 as Dr. Subject’s chairside assistant, is dedicated to ensuring our patients receive top-notch treatment and enjoy consistently positive experiences. A local resident, Lupe values her community ties and brings a warm, welcoming presence to our practice. Beyond the dental office, she enjoys traveling, dining out, baking, and spending quality time with family and friends, adding a touch of personal connection and warmth to our professional team.

Angela, our dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist, has been an essential part of Dr. Subject’s team since 2008. Her dental journey began as a front office manager, sparking her passion for the field. With 25 years of experience in dental practice and patient relationships, Angela is a seasoned expert. Her true calling is helping people achieve optimal oral hygiene health, a passion she brings to her work every day. Beyond the dental office, Angela is a loving mother of two and happily married to her college sweetheart, demonstrating her commitment both at work and in her personal life.
